Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

God sized dreams

God sized dreams

Taken at the Largo Grey Glacier in Torres Del Paine National Park

Sweet friends, these past three weeks have been a dream.  I wish there was a way for me to fully express what each of these days filled with whimsy and adventure have meant to me, but sadly I fear nothing I can say or show you can recreate this feeling of freedom!! Patagonia has been a God sized dream of mine ever since I first watch 180 Degrees South on Netflix. Watching that documentary kind of felt like falling in love with someone from a distance, there was a big tug on my heartstrings and I knew I had to know this place. For years I sat tucked in my bed re-watching 180 Degrees South with a growing desire and finally two weeks ago I got my chance to act upon it.

My journey started with a about a 24 hour journey from the States to Bariloche, Argentina, my first stop. Then onwards to Puerto Varas, Chile, Chiloe Island, Torres Del Paine, El Calafate, and finally Ushuaia before heading back to my new home in Buenos Aires.  In each destination I was met with breathtaking views, new friends, and a deeper understanding for the love our Creator has for us. I felt like I was playing a game of Bigger and Better with God, because everyday was met with more splendor than the last.

Amidst mountains, waterfalls, billowing winds, and glaciers I was reminded everyday how small we are. How small we are in the vastness of Christ's love for us. How small our sin and brokenness is compared to the ocean of grace he has for us. How rad is that?

How lucky we are to be loved by a God who strives to woo us, His bride, daily.

I wish I could tell you all every little detail of each day, but sadly no words or pictures will ever do this place justice. In the meantime though I suggest you give 180 Degrees South a watch or even just listen to its soundtrack.

PS: Big shout out to the coolest parents out there for believing in big dreams and adventures!!!

I enjoy the parts of the Bible where Jesus talks about how much He loves His bride. It makes me wonder if the trees and mountains and rivers are things He planned in advance, knowing they would wow us. I wonder if God returned over and over to this world He placed us in thinking what He has created was good, but it could be even better, even grander. I wonder if He thought about each foggy morning, each soft rain, each field of wildflowers would be a quiet and audacious way to demonstrate His tremendous love for us.
