This past Saturday I got to go on the sweetest little adventure with an even sweeter friend. I'm reminded that amidst all of the craziness of life adventure doesn't have to be a grand expedition, in fact sometime's adventures can be as small as grabbing coffee with someone new, or in our case, walking through some sketchy streets to stumble upon a new restaurant. All that you really need to make an adventure happen is to say "yes," it's as simple as that.
So this weekend when I got off of work and called my friend Elizabeth to see if she wanted to grab a sandwhich and she immediately said "yes" I knew we were in for some kind of fun. We originally had just planned on going to a local bakery to grab a quick dinner, but as soon as we got there we both decided we wanted something more. Thanks to the power of technology a restaurant popped up on my maps app and we went. After a couple of sketchy blocks we stumbled onto this...
A modest white exterior building with a chain link fence that opens into a beautiful, mod bar and restaurant. Ogie's left us with our jaws dropped. Between the fun atmosphere, delicous food, and great cocktails we were both two happy campers.
So here's just a simple reminder that adventures don't have to include plane tickets. Take time for yourself and your friends. Go explore your neighborhood. Treat yo' self to a two hour dinner. Enjoy it. Take pictures. Let me know what you find.
