What a joy it is to be surrounded by creative community. This was my first StreetMeetDC meet up and it was by far one of the most fun, welcoming, and creative group I have ever come across. To walk in as a stranger and leave with so many incredible new friends is a testament to the inclusivity of this group. Plus, these faces!! Look at those smiles!!
My best pal and sloth sister came to visit for 48 hours. We saw sunrises. Photographed cherry blossoms. Fearlessly scootered around DC. Ate sketchy hibachi take out. Watched movies. Didn't sleep. Ate nachos at the bar. Talked a lot about bucket hats but didn't actually buy any bucket hats. And most importantly laughed a lot. What a friend.
WalkWithLocals is a creative community built on the idea of inclusivity through getting to know your neighborhood + neighbors. After following them on Instagram for the past year, I was finally was able to make it to my first meet up last weekend. To be honest, it was a little intimidating at first but ended up being a great time getting to practice some of my street photography.
